Gunsmithing 30-06 action good for .284 build?

I was wondering what to do with a rem 700 action chambered in 30-06 that I got a few days a go and a friend of mine suggested a .284 build....
I believe this action is a long action correct me if I'm wrong and my question was if the action would serve me well for a .284?

Yes, LA it is and Yes, it'd be GTG for a 284 build.

There is one little cut inside the bolt face you need to watch for. On the inside chamfer most will require a small cut to keep it from hitting the brass when fired. If you get a goofy looking mark on the brass that's what's doing it. Can't say it won't shoot that way for sure but I have seen it adversely effect accuracy before. That was years ago so I make sure to tweak them all now.
