Greetings Fellows,

I have been reloading for some years on occasion, all my loads have typically been 38 spl and 45 colt, generally on lighter side as im shooting an 1851 cartridge and a 66 yellowboy rifle in 45 colt.

So I have this 80s made 1894 Win 30-30 lever, 16 barrel.
Id dig the rifle but ammo is either expensive or cant find, love the bang but if i can make my own, and more for plinking great.
Here is what i have, and where i need help from others experience,

Because most of the stuff i want to reload with based on people's work and load data is not available ....

What I have,

New Win 30-30 brass

150 grain soft tip copper jacketed bullets, (wish i had lead, because thats what i will end up using later) but i have these so id like to use it.

Powder ....

I have trailboss, preferably use this,
And lots of titegroup ( yes i know its a handgun powder and one can find loads online using it in a 30-30, but i dont think it will apply here.

And here is my concern.....
I have only magnum large rifle primers....

So my buds dad had passed and i have from him the box of bullets i mentioned and lots of the large rifle mag primers the CCI 250.....

Locally cant find any primers....

So, can i use the trailboss on the light side of suggested data Because of the mag primers? But not sure about trailboss with jacketed bullets.....

Any suggestions?
Thank you

Thank you both for the input, I have found quite a bit more info on my idea, I did in fact see that thread since I posted and read a number of times , and have started to find more load data, but not always with what I am trying to use. Turns out I found some more via you tube.

Very funny how what you want to know is very dependent on how you phrase a question, "trailboss and mag primers" helped a bit more.
also found this thread which boosted my confidence using mag primers..

Trailboss---which primers...? • Enough Gun

and then this article, Trail Boss for mild rifle loads - Sporting Shooter

I also realize that I will have to load one at a time based on the rounds I have, but I may as well burn them up, Like to go to Lead when I can find it, and hoping for some accuracy, doesn't have to be zeroed in, but ballpark on 12 incher at 100 yrd or tad better.

Seems to me some guys are showing decent numbers with a 120 or so grain bullet, that maybe TB drops off too much once its getting further out, which obviously one would suspect, but then I find the rare guys saying they are doing good with 170 gr and 165 gr... its like one big puzzle... haha.

I think it speaks volumes sometimes to a guys reloading ability, the fine details and also maybe a rifle.
I have found my TB load for the 45 colt in my 66 has been nice enough for my ability, open sights at 100 yrds. running a 200gr about 5.8,
dont even need ear protection, tools at work are louder than that!!! fun to toss that 200 or 250 gr down range without the big recoil one would expect.

I am getting close to making a few of these, based on lots of cross info, going to start around 6.8 or 7, and go gradually up from there and maybe top out at 9 or 10, also depending where that sits in the case based on height, not interested in getting near the top of the neck with a mag primer (also know not to compress), if i get good accuracy I may stay here but with a lead bullet, if not think i will try for 120 gr bullets,.... when i find.... or if.

I need to go to a local range, becasue it will be 6 weeks or so before I can get to the UP to test, rather test soon and if I like then make more.
Cheers and THX!
