Gunsmithing .30 cal brake on a 7mm?

I rock a 30 cal suppressor for my 6.5 and 7mm calibers with no issues. I also rock a 30 cal Tuebor brake on my 280 Rem with no issues at all. Accuracy is stupid good and recoil on that 280 feels like a 22-250, if that.

Honestly as long as it is a well designed brake like the APA, MPA, 419, etc, then you will see very little performance variance between a 30 cal and a .284 bored brake. If you're shooting a VAIS style, well they just suck altogether so it doesn't matter what the ID is of the brake.

I run a 30 cal on my 7 SAUM. Reduction is great. No issues there. I was personally concerned with turbulence issues but was assured by members it would not be a issue when I posted the question. I still have to work a load up for the rifle so I haven’t tested my theory yet.

You should have no issues. I have read a test that shows only a few percentage points less effective for a 6.5 but yours is a lot closer fit.

I'm going to be using a .30 cal brake on a 6mm, that's about the worst case there is. I'm expecting good results although I think it looks weird.
