The 300 ACC blackout and 5.56 use the same mag, bolt face. The 300 is a 5.56 case shortened and necked up to .30 cal. My question is will they chamber in each others chamber. This could really suck.I know NOBODY ever screws up so this is just a what if question. 5.56 in the 300 would not be as bad as the other way around. Thing that make you go ,HUH...

I highly doubt the action would close, the cartridge dimensions are quite different:

Yes, you can chamber a 300 Blackout into a .223/5.56 chamber and the result is BAD! So don't do it. Make sure you keep your ammo separate and know what you're shooting before you shoot.

Re: 300 ACC blackout /5.56 question

By the way, here's a post from another forum regarding 300BLK in a 556 chamber and being fired:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">...BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE.

First of all, no one was hurt with the exception of his pride. And no, it wasn't me.

A Blackout owner mistakenly...fuck it...stupidly chambered the 300 in his brand new DD 5.56 upper. It was the top round in the mag and when he released the bolt, it went forward and jammed the head back into the case. When he pulled the trigger....

Nothing can be saved. Everything broke. The head is still lodged in the barrel. Thankfully God protects the stupid.</div></div>

Re: 300 ACC blackout /5.56 question

5.56 cannot chamber in 300 BLK. (It is too long)
The only way a 300 BLK will chamber in 5.56 is if the projectile gets pushed back into the brass far enough.

You will notice in the photo, in order for a 300 BLK to close on a 5.56 chamber, the ogive of the 300 BLK bullet would have to get pushed back to where the shoulder of the 5.56 is.
