300 Norma Build Help

Hello,
I'm thinking of building a 300 Norma however brass isn't available where I live and is impossible to get. Does anyone know if you can form regular 338 lapua brass down to 300 Norma?

Can you get 338 Norma? That would be a simple one step process. The Lapua case could be used as the base case but there could issues with neck thickness, loaded round neck diameter, matching up to the chamber dimensions.

Or just shoot the Lapua and forget about the hassle of forming.

The avaiblility of the 300 Norma and 338 Norma cases are almost impossible to get, if I can make it out of lapua brass it would be nice, I already have a 338 lapua and a 338 lapua AI and I'm just tired of running booth of them as single shots so I figured I get the 300 Norma and I have the same proformance and can feed out of a AI mag. How hard would it be to make the 300 Norma case from the lapua?

Tom Sarver of Thunder Valley Precision builds the 300 Hulk. He starts with 338 Lapua brass and has a 4 step process to make brass for his Hulk. His Hulk is a "basically" a 300 NM Imp with a 37° shoulder.

So the answer to your question is yes. With custom dies, it can be done. I have heard the process take about 20 minutes to form one piece of brass though...
