Anyone loading the 250 A-TIP for the 300PRC? I've been trying but getting inconsistent results. It's likely me but...

I'm new to this cartridge and projectile. Seems to be accurate with good velocity. Will shoot a good group then next time open up.

300 PRC was pretty much designed for about a 220-gr projectile. 250 seems a bit heavy. Have you tried something lighter and been unhappy with it? Or is 250 all you can get? Just curioius.

Op, those are some decent velocities, what's your barrel length? Also are you single feeding or loading to mag length?

WHAT IS YOUR BARREL LENGTH ?
I’m guessing it’s about 48 inches long, or else maybe he’s welding his primers in place first. I get heavy bolt lift well before 2980 with the 230 A-tips, and that’s with a 30 inch barrel.

Sorry, I missed these replies. When I decided to go the 300PRC route I wanted to assemble it to shoot the heavies. I decided on the 250 A-TIP and the 230gr Berger. I've since decided to stay with the 230 due to availability.

Brand new 1/8 twist barrel . 5 shots at 100yrds
250 atip, 77.5g retumbo
That is awesome!

Sorry I missed your reply. I'm running a 31" 1:8 5R. I played around with both mag length and single feeding.

I find it very strange that I haven't seen ANY pressure signs even with the 250gr. I was running Hornady brass because that was all that was available. I've since switched to the 230 berger and have been fire forming Lapua brass with 79.8gr of VV N570. AVG velocity of 3015fps. Trying to develope some real world DOPE. My solutions are coming in way off. I was 3 MOA high @ 1040yds. Here was my last 3 shot group @ 1040yds

Any new development(s) with the 250 A-Tips, or are you running only the Berger 230's ?
I'm having my chamber reamed shortly and have built my project around the 250 A-tips, as it was my understanding the 230-250's were born for the 300PRC. I also have a jug of the N570 to charge with.

I am sorry, I have not played any more with the 250 atips. I decided to stay with the Berger 230s due to lack of supply. I would have no problem running either though. The testing I did do was impressive to me. The N570 , Fed 215M with the 250 A-tip showed real promise.

OK, Thx for the response. FYI, Dack Outdoors has 230 and 250 in stock regularly(now) at $76 a box. Have never seen them cheaper anywhere.
