Re: 300 REMINGTON ULTRA MAG
If you like muzzle blast , recoil, and short barrel life , it is a great long range caliber. I own one and I like it, but it is not a very practical high volume round.
If you are just getting started in long range shooting, I would encourage you to consider something that is more practical to practice with, like 308, 260 ,223 ,6BR,etc.
If I am off base and you are an experienced shooter with plenty of money for powder , barrels, and bullets then light her up ,it is a great hunting round. It is only surpassed by a few 30 caliber rounds such as 30 378 Weatherby.
