Hunting & Fishing 300 wby and 220gr horady interlocks

would a 300 wby mag loaded 220gr interlock be an okay brown bear or bison cartridge? I know a 416 rigby loaded with a 400gr interlock puts cape buffalo down nicely.

I dont think most would suggest it, but I personally know of 2 big Coastal Brown's that fell to a .300 Wby shooting 180 TTSX.

i have never shot a brown bear, so i cannot tell you from experience.

if you have the rigby, i'd take that. but your wby should work just fine. i'm partial to barnes tsx bullets myself. a lot of brownies have fallen to the .30-06, and one outfitter i got some info on a couple years ago when looking at a brownie hunt, he recommended a .30-06 that you could shoot well instead of a big magnum that you couldn't.
