300 win mag and norma 217 anyone?

I got an email from Norma stating 87gr of 217 was max for the 338 Lapua. That got me thinking that 75gr or so would be great for 208 Amax in a 300 win. Anyone running 217 in a 300?

I shoot 80gr N217 with 208A-Max in my 300win. OAL 89,1mm. Norma brass

Shoot superb out too 1000m.
One hole at 200m.
Better than half MOA when i do my part

80 grains seems like a lot. I settled on 72.5 showing around 2900 fps with the 208 amax.

Norma 217 and RL 25 are nearly identical powders. I worked up a retumbo/208 amax and velocity went way up in a 29 inch Kreiger. Recoil also went way up but accuracy was the same at around .3 MOA.

How temp sensitive is 217?? I shoot H-1000 or MAGPRO right now but have been wanting to try 217.

N-217 seems to be slightly sensitive. Recently, from 75 degrees to 107 degrees it needed .7 of a grain less to compensate for temp. If H1000 or retumbo are not available then 217 is the next best option.
