.300 WM 5r 24 inch barrel

So I got the dreaded 5r a while back. Mine is a .300 WM. It is interesting that it has a 24 inch barrel, which suprised me because I thought they were 26. Does anyone else have one like this? I think that mine was made in 2008 maybe 2009, I forget what the box said. I am not concerned because of this just interesting.

Dreaded?!

There are a lot of words I would use to describe the 700 5R from remington, certainly not "dreaded".

Should be a good performer for you. Mine was good (a 308) and performed .4-.5 MOA.

I have only heard of one "bad" 5R ever and that was a clear factory screw up putting it together and just sending it out the door.

I would have thought 26" as well. I don't think 24" will hurt anything though. I'm building my personal 300WM suppressed and finishing it at 22". I don't think I am going to loose much, we'll see.

The 1st 100 or so 300wm's 5R's that they built were 24" with a 1 in 10" twist. They've been 26" ever since, same twist. I'm pretty sure it was late 2008 when those hit the market.
