I know there are some of you guys that use your 300 WM for hunting and wanted to see what you like to load.I got out today with my 165 Scirocco 72.5-77.5 gr. of H4831SC with .025 jump and didn't see anything worth keeping.Im not sure if they need more jump or if they need to be jammed at this point but I guess that is part of the fun of working in a load.I would get a decent group then 2 flyers and some of it is me being a new shooter but wasn't happy with the groups I shot.Any suggestions on what to try?

My favorite hunting load is h4831 under a 200 gr nosler partition. 69 grains of powder shoots just under .6 in groups at 100 in my a bolt browning

I got to shoot my 208 gr. a max that im trying to get up for my target load and found 2 really good nodes so I my need to just try a heavier bullet and see If that helps.

Win brass, 71gn of IMR 4350, cci 250 and 180 Nosler Accubonds or Sierra Gameking. Last time out was shooting 1/2"@ 300.

230 Berger OTM .719 G1 BC, 77.6 grains Retumbo, Fed 215, .005 off the lands in Remington brass. 2865 fps, ES < 10, some instances 4 out of five shots duplicated.
Absolute hammer!
Go with the heavies and release the beast inside the 300 WM.

You didn't say what you're hunting, so I'll add an odd ball. 125gr Nosler BT over Varget. Crows and yotes beware! I've killed a deer with it, but I wouldn't suggest using it for med or large game. The deer I shot was a small doe (~85 lb) that was playing picky-bo from behind a poplar tree. It was very near decapitation. It does a real # on yotes!

I have always used the 165 Hornady for western mule deer. My load is over max according to the manuals, 80.0 grains of H4831, I forget the velocity but it's adequate for what I do. Plain vanilla Win large rifle, I don't use a mag primer. BB

My hunting load for my 300WM has been 180gr Nosler partitions with 68 grains of IMR 4350. This year I am going to switch over to the Nosler Accubonds just because the tips of my partitions got bent up in my pack last season.

If your gun wont shoot 74-76 grains of RL-22 over a 180gr Partition it wont shoot.
Velocity hangs around 3100fps.
I have tried this combination in dozens of rifles and it has shot very well in every one.
Another favorite is the 200gr Accubond over 71-73grain of RL-22 for around 2950fps. The last three rifles I tried it in shot 1 inch at 200 yards with this combo.

This load has very mild recoil in my rifle, and shoots better than all the loads that I have run hotter.
