Hey guys I have been trying to work a load up with Berger 185 hunting VLD bullets for my Savage 300 WM with a 26" barrel. I have tried a few different powders and I last used H1000. So I started with 79 going up .5 after 5 rounds. Last week at 81g, I had a very good group on it at 100yds. So I thought I would adjust and try to tweak it and then 81g was not as good as last week but 80.3 had 4 out of 5 rnds touching. So I walked inside and reloaded 5 more rounds @ 80.3 thinking the group would still come out good. But wasnt even close. I did everything exactly like I did when reloading last week. OAL was the same and everything. Any hints on why the group would not continue to be the same? Thanks for any helpful advice.

Re: 300 WM load question?

Hey Swagger,

I still had some new brass that was in my cabinet and used that but changed the load and went with 180gr Interbond with 76.3gns of RL22 being the best. I started down at 75.0 and worked up. 76.0 was the best so I went .3 up and down. 76.3 3 sht group was very tight. So I reloaded the now once fired brass and had the exact same group. So Im a happy camper. Thanks for the input on annealing the other brass. I will start to work on that with in the next few days. Just trying to get a good load worked up for Elk season coming up quickly.
