I am looking for some good long range target loads for my H.S Precision. Barrel is 24" and in 1"-10" twist.

Just loaded some Sierra 175 Match bullets with IMR4350 - 63.5 grains. Not a real hot load - right at 3000 fps with my stock remington 700 barrel but accurate and very pleasant to shoot. Only shot at 200 yards but was right at 1.25". Will try and take it to 500 yds this weekend. Also likes the nosler 180 accubonds with same powder. Really just started working up a load for this rifle. It was shooting several types of factory loads at around 2" at 100 yds so am pretty happy so far. Waiting for local shop to get some 208 Amax's to try.

The test target my H.S Precision came with from the factory showed great accuracy but the load seems a little mild for shooting out to 1000yds. 62gr IMR 4350 168gr Matchking was only doing mid-2800's which seems low for that weight bullet. I am wanting to use a bullet that I can comfortably shoot matches with and not be scared to use the same load deer hunting. That being said I am leaning toward the 208gr A Max or the Berger VLD no lower than 175gr.

My H.S Precision bottom metal docent allow me to get crazy with the COAL on my 300 wsm. I bought some 208gr Amax's today to try and seated one to gist fit the magazine and it measured 2.858. Do you guys think that is long enough to use those bullets with a charge of IMR 4350 to amount to anything?

I don't know if this will be helpful to you or not but here goes. I had a Rem. 300 WSM SPS Varminter w/ 26" barrel and the load that I got the best results from was 210 grn. Berger loaded with 64.5 grns. of H4831 and my velocities were 2832 fps.

Pet load from local 1000 yard range 210 Berger VLD over 60 grains of H4350. I have a GAP re-barreled FN SPR and use above load with 208 AMAX shoots very well.

Forgot to mention ES is very low with this load around 11 to 15 FPS in my gun.
