300 WSM on Bighorn TL3 Short Action

Long story short I built a custom rifle and current set up is as follows
Bighorn TL3
PROOF CARBON 1 in 7.5 6.5 PRC
TRIGGERTECH DIAMOND
MANNERS EH1A w/ mini chassis
Area 419 Hellfire break

Wanting to add a 30 cal magnum barrel to the setup and thinking 300 wsm in standard throat. Mostly a hunting setup with the occasional long range shooting capability.

what are you’re thoughts on the 300 wsm since it would be a drop in fit for my Short action?

With hunting bullets it should be GTG especially with the common 2.96 magazines.
My 7 saum with 168’s classic hunter Berger’s. would easily fit standard original AICS mags with 2.85 oal capacity.

Just had a Bartlein#13 done by Misery Custom Rifles in 300 WSM. Still in load development but Rl-22 with Nosler 180 gr AB and 180 gr BT are working out nicely.

Here’s my 6.5 PRC on a Bighorn TL3 Just looking to add a 300 WSM Proof barrel and I think I will have a pretty versatile set up

I love the 300WSM. It is my favorite cartridge in the lineup. I was hesitant to build one on a short action as like to run the VLD's and wanted the mag room. I have known a lot of folks have a ton of success with it though and if you aren't running the heavy VLD's, id say do it! You wont regret it.
