i've got a .300 wsm shooting though a 1-10 26" barrel. looking for a good long distance load using these current powder and bullets. 175 smk, 210 berger vlds, imr 4350, re-22. just getting into reloading and am trying to figure out the best route for starting loads on each of these.

i got an email from berger saying that the max load for the 210gr was 55.5 gr for imr4350 @ 2658fps, and re-22 was 61.6gr @ 2691fps. i guess i thought the wsm usally shoots closer to 2800-2900fps but i guess with these heavier bullets they might be a little slower? any advice on good loads to start out with and luck that you've had with any of these combos would be great. thanks everyone.

Re: .300 wsm recomendations?

I'm sure their data is conservative for any rifle out there, not tailored to your rifle. As well as they didn't tell you what barrel length either I'm supposing.

My 26" barreled 30-06 does better than that with heavy bullets using RL-22, the WSM has about 10-12% more case capacity (depending on bullet seating depth) so I'd suggest giving RL22 a try and see how it runs.
