A week or so back I posted some questions about the 300 WM. I am in Afghanistan, and when I get home, my welcome back gift to myslef is going to be a new bolt gun. Still deliberating on custom built, or just buying one off the shelf.
I presently own and reload for a .308 custom built rifle.
I was wanting to go with something bigger, and much of the replies I got concerning the 300WM is that it burns out barrles pretty quickly, and I had a few replies telling me to go with something different.
The range I generally shoot at at Fort Benning will not allow .338 LM.
I did some reading on the 300 WSM, and it looks like it may suit my needs. The biggest drawback I see, is that there are not a whole lot of options in stock rifles available in that cartridge.
Are there any drawbacks other than non-availability of riles?
