I currently have a custom 300winmag that I shoot out to 1300yds, as well as a remington 700p in 300winmag, and a 6.5x47 lapua that is about to be complete. Up till now, I have been swapping my Leupold Mark 4 M5 4.5-15x back and forth based on what I was shooting. But now I am looking to purchase 2 more scopes, so each gun is ready to go.
Im thinking of puting my Mark 4 on my 700P, and getting a new scope for my custom 300winmag. I am back and forth between these two scopes:
IOR

Leupold

My current Leupold Mark 4 has been absolutely rock solid on my 300winmag. It tracks fantastic, the turrets are solid, the TMR reticle has been fantastic, and the glass has been great.
But I keep hearing good things about the Schott glass in the IOR, and it also comes with an illuminated reticle, which will help when I hunt coyote. Im having a very hard time stepping away from solid performance of my Leupolds. I want to try something new, but I know the Leupold wont let me down. Is it worth giving this IOR a shot? Or am I risking a step down in performance over my current Leupold Mark 4?
