300WM ammo recommendations

Favorite caliber for rifle, good choice. What are you shooting at? Mine are used primarily for hunting and are fed a steady diet of 180-gr TSX and TTSX. That said, when the task is range work, they get 208 Amax and 175 sierra matchking hand loads. Since you have the caliber, now you need to pick the target and the shot it will most often be called upon to deal with, then go from there. Short of that, it is a good all-rounder and no one can give you much more than all-around ammo suggestions.
Last thought: don’t set up a 1000 yard gun when it MIGHT one day take a long shot. Set the gun up for the shot it will take. I see so many nitwits at the 100 yard line bragging about their 1000 yard gun that they can’t even shoot well at 1/10th that range.

Appreciate the information. It will be used for mostly hunting but I do plan on messing around with the 1000 yard mark sometime in the future. Do you see much performance or accuracy difference between the 180g TSX and TTSX?

I don’t hunt long range so group size is less
Important than dead. That said, I don’t waste hunting bullets on range pursuits. My 300 of choice loves 175 SMKs at about 3100 FPS, if I am shooting for precision hits at range, that is my go-to. But that means exactly nothing to you; since yours will like something else. The trick is to experiment. For graveyard dead, I do TTSX, other stuff works too, but those have been sledgehammers for me on multiple continents.

The federal 200gr terminal ascent grouped so well for me, I sold all the other ammo I had for that rifle and will never buy anything else in 300wm.
How did it shoot at 1K? group size? Bullet BC consistency?

Groups at 100 yards are a SMALL piece of the pie.

Based on the shape and design of the bullet, I am going to assume its not great at long range. It has bands similar to barnes. Another bullet that sucks at long range. Inside 500 yards it wont matter but OP is looking to shoot further. The berger 215's BC blows it out of the water and is a well proven killer.

The only real issue I have ran into with 300wsm/300wm ammo is with factory barrels still using 1:11 like tikka. You are then limited to 200 class bullets and bellow to stabilize.

You’re pleasant. I read the OP and answered what he asked, trying to give options. I don’t have 1000’s of rounds on it. I’ve only shot the TA to 500, being a hunting rifle, and it was consistent. My tikka is a 1:10 fyi.

I had good results while sighting in a new Old Stock Remington 700 in 300 Win Mag.
I used SIG SAUER Elite 190gr OTM because I read somewhere that Special Forces had purchased some and the price was right from SIG.
I haven't had anytime to take it further than 100yds.
