I'm running 215 Hybrids in my 300wsm. I was pleasantly surprised at the velocities and accuracy I'm getting with RL17. Loaded to fit in a Wyatt extended magazine box with 62 grains RL17 and a 215M primer in Norma brass, I'm running 2940fps without excess pressure. 63 grains is OK too but primer pockets loosen up after 3 firings. I'm also getting about 1/3 MOA out of both loads, as well as a mild load of 60 grains that produces 2840fps.
So running the numbers vs the 7mm's with the 180's at 3000, this load would slightly outperform it for drift and provide a lot better barrel life. I just thought I would share for those messing with the 300WSM and the heavies. I didn't think I'd see performance like this out of it. I know RL17 has a reputation for temp sensitivity, but we get very little temp variations here, except getting much colder than it is now.
