Rifle Scopes .308 @ 1000 yards with nikon scope

i have savage .308 and nikon buckmaster 6-18 x 40 scope on it
also i have 20 moa base
i have never shot this gun past 469 yards
i have to use this gun in a competition this summer
will i be able to take a shoot @ 1000 yards with this set up or do i need better scope

you should, had the same setup on mine and had something like 42 moa of uppage.
