308 178 Amax looking for speed

My 20" 308 with 43.5 grains of varget is 2550 fps . I would like to get the speed up what powder should I be looking at?

What brass? With my 20" and Hornady or Lapua brass and 44grns of Varget I get 2695fps and with Win brass and 45grns I get 2700fps. You can try and work up some or try another powder like mentioned above. 8208 XBR reportedly gives good velocity as well.

My AIAX MC is a 1:12 24" It likes 44.3gr. of Varget in Lapua brass with BR2's this will give me 2730 Ft/sec. I can go harder but I load for Tactical with a speed limit of 2750. The same load runs Berger 175 OTM's at 2715. I've gone up to 45.0 and got 2810 with the Amax or ELD M They were both the same in my rig. Also tried VV N540 and while I could get a decent load it was sub 2600 Ft/sec. With a 1:12 I need the speed when using 178's

Went to the range tonight to double check speed over chrono got 2550 again over 9 shots. Best group was .252. Hornady brass varget 2.815" Swfa 10x. Been playing with Winchester brass and the 208 amax but not happy with that either.
