Curiosity killed the cat. Anyone had any experience with the accelerator rounds weather its .308's 30-06's or so on? wondering if there just hype, decent, junk, etc......

Are they still available? I have a box or 2 in 308 but haven't shot 'em. Back in the day, I did use some to test fire and was surprised at the recoil.
I have shot some in the past 30-06. essentially a 55GN SP in a sabot. fast as can be but for me they grouped a basketball at 100 meters. form what I understand the barrel has to be spotless before shooting, as to not screw with the nylon sabot. Muzzle devices of any sort are a big no no. I could be very wrong on some of this, but it is my experience.
Target interdiction does not require pin point placement. You can load your own as the nylon sabots are around. Shooting a 300wm, w/a duplex or tri-plex powder load and 69gr 109's, .227 oil quenched drill rod, or the 63 gr perpetrators from 30-06 ap,... just be sure of you back round behind AR 500,... YMMV
I though that they were discontinued because the BATF was threatening to outlaw them. It seems they were concerned about people shooting rounds that would be devoid of ballistic information... 
Shooting a 22 caliber bullet from a 30 caliber bore still requires a 22 caliber twist rate!
So that 1:12 twist of the 308 bore (1:10 for 30-06) just is not fast enough to stabilise the long projectile after the sabot is ripped off by the wind.

I tried them in a buddies .30-06 but could not get better than a 10" group. With basic Winchester hunting ammo it shot about 2". I don't think the barrel twist was right to stabilize them.
I have some of the sabots and slugs. Never tried to load them.

That's exactly what i was thinking but wasn't for sure. Ive got a few boxes of 30-06 but never played with them.
