Hi. I'm considering changing my screen name haha. Anyways, I'm looking at a Remington 700 SPS .308. I had a .308 before, but I never took it to a range or shot it for accuracy. Just kinda messed around and had some fun. Currently with my .17 hmr I am shooting 1" 10 round groups. So I'm not exactly the best shot in the world, but I'm a good one, and have fired a .308 before.

With this in mind, what kind of 10 round groups can I expect at 300 yards with the .308? I have fired my .17 hmr at 300 yards, but even on a good day it's not really worth it unless I just want to shoot to hit the gong, and I'd rather shoot for precision. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i bought my savage 10 with the HS stock and i have yet to shoot it. i just havent gotten to the range or worked on loads yet. but its a nice rifle. i got it for the same thing you want it for. it was priced right
