I have a 308 bolt problem I need help from the brain trust on. I built a 308 using a 2A armament bcg and a Faxon barrel, it runs flawlessly. I picked up a Faxon bolt for a spare and it slides over the brass about every 3 or 4 rounds. When I slide the bolt into the carrier it is smooth until the last 1/4 inch then it sticks in the rear of the carrier cycle, not stuck it just takes more effort to move the bolt forward or back that last bit. I changed the gas rings which has made it smoother but still the same problem. Any ideas on fixing this or is this bolt just not a match for this carrier?

Obviously something is providing resistance that last quarter inch and not letting the bolt go past the cartridge. If you are going to run that bolt you will have to find out what is causing friction.

Not completely sure I understand the problem, but Faxon has a bad batch of extractors. You may see a shiny area behind the lug on the extractor. These extractors were made out of spec.

My rifle would not go into battery/go over the brass except after a few bolt release/slams.

Faxon took about 1 month to replace mine, but admitted right away they had some bad extractors.

Maybe this helps,

Blessings,

BC
