Gunsmithing .308 boltface rebarrel to 223 what are my options?

I just picked up a 22/250 700sa, I wanna 223ai and I have a 8 twist Rock Creek Barrel would it be feasible to use this action? I know I can get a PTG bolt but are there any cheaper options out there?

We stick to LA, but I know there have been a lot of SA bolts both on here and on Gunbroker. In fact I think someone just had a 223 bolt in the classifieds. Shouldn't be too hard to find one, or post a WTB ad.

The feed rails are different on the 22/250,243,308 etc receivers. They do not extend as far forward as a 223 receiver. Perhaps it will feed and maybe not. The smaller diameter 223 case might jump out from under the feed rail prematurely and with the 223AI having some feeding issues in some receivers anyway you may be building a headache. Better off to have the correct receiver from the gitgo and modify rails if needed for the fatter AI round if needed. Just my .02 cents worth. I tore my 223AI apart because I got tired of feeding issues using it for a coyote rifle.

i have sleeved a standard boltface to make it a .223 and then installed a tubb 2000 extractor before its not that dificult to do but it might be cheaper to just buy a ptg bolt
