308 brass question

Does anyone know if there is a difference between 308 federal gold metal match brass and the brass federal uses for their cheap American eagle fmj stuff?

It looks identical. Same headstamp, primer sealant, etc. Im using FGMM brass for my reloading so far, so would mixing in the Am. Eagle brass effectively mean mixing in a bunch of inferior pieces of brass into my supply? Or maybe all federal headstamp brass is the same? Or maybe I’m overthinking this since it’s for a semi-auto lol.

Normally not a good idea to mix lots.

That was a question I also had just a few years back. I had called Federal and the person I talked to there said they do not make different grades of their brass. It's all the same.

I am familiar with FGMM brass and as far as I can tell the difference is that the FGMM rounds (in 308) rounds all weigh within 1 gn of each other. Obviously the brass does also. I believe they are weight sorting.
