I am trimming a batch of LC Brass (1200 of them )for my FNAR .Trim lengh is 2.005. Some cases are only 2.001 to 2.004(before trimming) I have put these to the side . Should I readjust my dies(crimp) and load them as a seprate batch and let them grow or not bother and load them all together? 175 SMK will be the bullet. At what point are they too short?I know I have to readjust my flash hole debur tool or I will take too much out.
Thanks Scot

Re: 308 case trimming

I'm curious as to why you are crimping?

I just got a batch of once fired brass that came out of a gun with a fatass chamber (MG my guess-large deflector dents) and when sized they are pretty damn long. I ordered a Sinclair chamber length gage last night to try and not trim the brass a lot shorter than what is needed. Anyone had any experience with these gages?

Re: 308 case trimming

I am crimping becasue my FNAR is a autoloader.I always crimp my rounds for autos as they could set back bumping the feed ramps. I had a 5.56 wolf round set back on feeding and thank God it jamed total set back was about 1/4 inch talk about a pressure spike!I put a light crimp on ALL my loads for a equal start presures.
