I am looking for a light recoil load for quick double taps at up to 50yds that will cycle a ar action, anything past that I will use a regular 308 load. Can any one help with a load that they use?

I would try some 125 Speer TNT's. I have a box of 250 for my garand short line load practice but can't help you on an AR light load.

150 FMJ's with a reduced recoil load, Hodgdon's website has a "Youth Loads" pull down in the "DATA" menu. You should be able to find something there to work from and tune the system into.
