Hey guys,

I have a Mega MA-Ten build, with a complete DPMS BCG (with the DPMS bolt as a spare) and a JP Enhanced .308 bolt.
With both bolts I have had some extraction/ejection issues, leading to feeding issues.
I am suspecting the extractor/extractor spring. I've ordered some .308 dual extractor springs from Sprinco, in the hopes that the increased tension will cure my issues. (I had this exact problem with my 5.56 AR, and it was 100% cured with BCM extractor spring upgrade kit - I am hoping for the same with my .308).
Now my question is this:
-Having talked to a JP rep, he told me that they have until now sourced their extractors and extractor springs from DPMS. I am looking to see if there is anything "better" than a DPMS extractor that would work with my bolt. I am fine with just sticking to DPMS, assuming the stiffer spring fix works, but am curious if there are other options.

Thanks for the help.

Try one of the rubber inserts and the double springs.I have experienced this a few times.I think with violence of action. The brass comes out of the extractor because of the lack of tension. All of the ones i have seen work out with a hundred or so rounds with the inserts and different springs.

What are you using for a buffer and spring?
Could that be the problem?
I have two MA TEN's with that exact same setup - DPMS carrier and JP Bolt. (and currently building a third).
I have no problems ~ FWIW I use Slash's heavy buffer/spring in both current rigs.

I had problems with my extractor before. Turned out the lip completely sheered off. It was on a dpms bolt. At the time It was easier to buy a JP bolt instead of trying to replace just the extractor. I was under the impression at the time that JP produced their own extractors, thats why I bought one of their bolts.

I don't know who makes them but POF has a bolt upgrade with an np3 coated extractor and it has a logo stamped into it, maybe they make their own, I'm not sure. That may be an option for you.

I'm also using Slash's XH .308 Carbine buffer and spring combo. I think I;ve narrowed it down to the extractor and spring.

Hey Benito, I have a similar set up and problem as yours and was wondering if you solved it yet? I just ordered a JP enhanced bolt and was hoping that would fix it. It might be a little over board though, maybe I'll try that spring upgrade first. Did it work for you?
