Gunsmithing .308 Galil Front Handguard

Hello,

Could one of you learned gentlemen tell me how to remove the synthetic front handguard on a .308 Galil? It looks like it just snaps off but I'm not comfortable using the gentle persuasion method on it if I don't know for sure.

it has been a while since i been around a galil but i believe there is a small cam lever on the front hand gaurd retaining plate you turn the cam over and it will slide towards the muzzle and allow the hand guards to be removed.
