308 load question

I have a Rem 700p with 1 in 12 twist barrel.
I normally shoot 168's with it but I went to the store and all they had were sierra matchkings in 180grn
Will my barrel shoot these?
I use Varget, and looked on Hogden's site and they don't list load data for sierra matchkings in 180, only in 175.
Anyone have advice for a load?
For brass all I have is LC and WRA
Fed 210 primers


This is not for a match or anything, just to go out and shoot some steel for fun.

My 12 twist does shoot 180's but the test was not exhaustive.
Use the 175 load data - won't hurt a thang.

Thanks, the main reason I posted was bc over at arf.com someone posted that they didnt think it would work and I've never shot them before. I'll work up a load and just shoot em

Even though Arf'com has some interesting BS sometimes. I would take anything posted there with a grain of Salt....

I shot some 180's out my 700P when I first got it just because that was the only Bullet I had at the moment. As suggested use the same data as the 175.

being that slow of a twist, try 155gr palmas over hotter varget load, you might be surprised.

Funny thing is.....when the 175s first came out, the general advice was "Use the data for the old 180gr International/SMK and work up." Now it's just the opposite, with folks looking for 180gr loads from 175 data.
