I'm very new to long range and have a remington 700 xcr tactical long range with a 26" barell with 1-12 twist. I only have 50 brass so far and I loaded up 10 each of 42, 43, and 44 grains of RL15, and 10 each of 43 and 44g of varget with 168 SMK's in Win. brass with Winchester WLR primers @ 2.8 OAL along with 20 factory reming match bullets 168 grains. Broke the gun in with the remmy's. All the bullets shot around 1 inch at 100 except for the 43g of RL 15 shot about 3/4'' and the 44g of RL15 shot all in one cloverleaf hole. I then shot all the loads at 200 with the 43g of RL15 shooting a 1 inch group and the 44g ff RL15 shooting half inch group, all of the others shot around 2 inches. All of this surpassed my expectations and I was wondering if I need to try and tweak this load or leave it alone and just shoot it? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Didn't shoot through a chrony this time but will next time.
