Looking for some help on understanding and get going in the right direction with the ocw test, first time using this method. i had originally worked up a load for 100 yards, but testing at 200 and 300 was horrible, photo below off 100 yard group

Now to me 44.8 to 45.1 seems good, that nets me right around 2690-2720 FPS, any insight would be appreciated

You got something else going on besides load question. You should be printing about dime size groups if not bug holes. You need to reasess your manner of rest and hold and things that may allow such wide spread such as loose scope, rings, npa, trigger squeeze, etc. all of the basic marksmanship skills.

I am using a front and rear bag like i always have, the scope is a swfa that i just installed the first picture is a group i shot with that scope at 100 yards, the next pictures are same scope at 200 yards. 40XS i understand what you are saying, but i shoot my 7mm mag 338 lm and all my other rifles in the same manner and never had these issues, but just incase i got the torque wrench out and went over every screw on the rifle and i will redo the test today, maybe something was different yesterday, meaning me

10-4. I had no way of knowing your experience level, so looking at the targets it would appear they were shot with a muzzle loader and patched round ball. What is the history on your rifle. have you ruled out the barrel being the culprit? try other bullets and powder. What does factory rounds look like? There is a definite reason it wont group, just need to fond out why. I had a used .22 that would not shoot. I finally decided it was shot out, although it takes many thousands of rounds to shoot out a .22. good luck!

Haha actually I think I can do better with the flint lock. Anyway long story short I bought rifle new its a howa1500 24 bull 308 in a bell and Carlson medalist. Because of short supply of varget I switched to rl15. Anyway went back to range today and I forgot my yellow scope caps o well no big deal so I shot my normal 44.5 grain load and bam 1.13 group at 200 yards. So I get home and grab the caps and put them on and take them off I could not believe how much they throw the cross hair and if you turn them you can watch the crosshairs move. So yeah we are all good now. Rl15 44.5 gr 168 smk 2.86 oal lc12 brass.
