Hey guys, I'm attempting to install my new barrel onto my POF 308 upper. Much to my chagrine, my AR-15 armorer's wrench pins do not match up with the 308 POF barrel nut. I can't find any information on this, and as usual, POF won't answer their phones.

Also, it does not appear that the DPMS 308 wrench will work, since the POF nut has 19 holes in it, and the DPMS has an even number.

WTF!?!?!? Thanks for the info Tom - forgive me, but I hope you're incorrect! That's insane for a wrench! I might have to try to fab something up on my own, or use a strap wrench.

Re: 308 POF Barrel Nut Wrench?

Well, I installed the barrel tonight. I machined out the inside of the barrel nut to the diameter of my barrel. Then I installed the barrel and nut, and used a strap wrench to tighten up the nut. I tightened the barrel nut on as tight as I could by hand, then used the strap wrench to align the next hole in the nut with the gas tube hole (I'm running this gun DI). I'm not sure what the POF instructions are - but that's what the instructions for Yankee Hill free float tubes are - I'm hoping that is tight enough. I was barely able to get it tight enough with the strap wrench, the strap was starting to give.

Regardless, I'm hoping that this will help someone else in the future with this same problem!
