my Savage 12fv 308 26" barrel, 1in 10 twist, Hornady 168ELD-M, Sig brass, Federal #215 mag primers, IMR4064. QUESTION: would like to shoot 800 yards. best group at 100 yards 41.5 gr. Next is 43.5. 41.5 little on slow side? Look for higher node around 43gr ? Suggestions thanks

I would start off with standard large rifle primers.
I also have better luck with the Sierra 150 gr or 155 palma at least at 600 yards.
Only way you can know is to try both your loads and shoot.

If you can state what the velocity was at each load we can make better suggestions. At 800 yards ES/SD matters.

On a side note, Berger bullets work better...

4064/168 generally shoots at 41.5. No need for mag primer at all, but you have a decent group, so go straight to 800 with it. See if it holds up. Too much vertical in your 43.5 begs for more powder, yet you may hit pressure. No need to ring the guts out of it. Further study: watch the Jack Neary videos, delve into the single shot Creighton Audette ladder test. Save time and $. You have plenty twist to use Berger 185 Juggs and some varget or h4895 if you want to go longer than 800
