So,

A friend dragged me kicking and screaming from the AR world into the world of long range shooting.
He mercilessly taunted me by sharing a couple of his fine long-range firearms at a great day on the 1000 yard line.
And I'm glad he did.

Fresh off the range, I had to build one of my own.

After some searching here's what I came up with;

From eddieharren
Action: .308 Remington 700 SA"E" series matte
Barrel: PacNor HV, Matte Stainless, 10 twist in 308, 23" x .920" at the muzzle
Trigger: Rem trigger at 2 Lbs.
Trued to perfection. Awesome deal.

From Nora23
Stock: H-S Precision PST035 Long Range stock
Another great deal.

New parts
Bottom Metal: M5 Stealth – Pacific Tool & Gauge
Rings: Badger 34mm on Badger 20MOA Picatinny rail – from EuroOptics
Scope: Leupold Mark 6
Bipod: Atlas BT10-LW17 – from B&T Industries
A bolt knob upgrade - LongRifles Inc.

A stripped screw (due to my own error), a new rail (again with the screw, don't ask), a little Dremel work to fit the M5 to the stock, and build complete.
Total build cost ~$3300.00

Amateur bolt action shooter printing .75 inch at 100 yards on the first day. Priceless.
It should settle down even more as I make a few minor adjustments and get better at relaxing...

Now, off to the 600-1000 range.

Signed,
A happy convert
