Looking to build 308 on spr action for hunting and steel to 750 or so. Rarely shoot past 750 anymore.

want to shoot mostly 155 scenar using 8208 powder. Spr action,
22” barrel med Palma or proof carbon, mcs t stock , factory spr bottom metal and bushnell lrts scope. Will a 22” inch barrel get enough velocity for the 155’s. Would like to be at 10.5-11 lbs ready to shoot not including bipod. Thinking bisley chamber.

If you guys that shoot the 308 a lot have a better idea of what really works let me know.

My loads with the 155 push it 2925 and 2990 out of two different 24" Bartlein barrels.

Just a data point for you.

And yes, a 22" barrel and 155's will be more than adequate for the type of shooting you are describing.

I run the same 155’s with 8208 out of a 24” barrel and it is good to 1,200 yards in my area.

This sounds pretty close to what I'm doing ...

155 SMK 20 inch palma reamed barrel, still working on load dev, but I'm around 49.3/49.4 with CFE223. The 8208 has been recommended and I might try it.

2900 with 155 is a cake walk for a 22” barrel.
Benchmark or 8208XBR will get you there if you do your part. Unless you have an oddball variable, there should be no pressure signs.
Hope this helps.
