.308 Tipped TSX Loads

Anyone have experience loading .308 tipped TSX rounds, 168 grn?

I'm not a loader, but my dad is starting some loads and using Varget, 42-44.5 grns. It's crunching when the bullet is seated and I'm nervous about it.

Is this crunching / compacting of the powder normal? I'm naive about this, and concerned that my dad has overloaded the rounds. Any guidance / vote of confidence would be greatly appreciated.

OAL of the loads @ 2.810"...as recommended by the Barnes loading book.

I just did some loads on the 165gr. I got the same thing. No pressure witness at all
