308 Uppers?

Re: 308 Uppers?

I don't know of any factory offerings with a 26" barrel, but you may find a 24" out there somewhere.

Out of pure curiosity...why do you want such a long barrel? By the time you get a 26" barrel, thread it, attach some sort of muzzle brake/flash hider, you are looking at approx. 28" or a little more of barrel length. That is loooooong for an AR-type rifle.

If you are stuck on the 24" or longer, you are likely better to buy a stock DPMS upper off of ARFCOM, here, gunbroker, etc. and then once you have it in hand, send it out for fluting/threading. See here:

I have had Steve at ADCO flute and thread an AR-10 barrel for me and his work is excellent, as is his turn around. He should be able to flute your barrel under the handguards and in front of the gas block, and thread it 5/8x24 and recrown your barrel for <$200.

Here is another option which already has a fluted barrel, but unthreaded. The shop is offering threading for an additional $70:

Just look around and you'll find something close. Doubtful that you'll get everything you are looking for without having to have some work done by somebody whether in-house where you buy it or elsewhere!

Re: 308 Uppers?

i can find you threaded with or without as comp or fluted, but not the both. id say its easier to thread a fluted than flute the threaded one? PM me for info. they run $800-$900 depending on the foward assist
