I'm hopping this weekend to do some testing of some loads that I have worked up. I wanted to get some insight if anyone thought that the loads I worked up might not be good, and that how I plan to test them is proper.
This is what I will be testing.
.308 with CCI 200 primers. I have 5 loads each Reloader 17 45gr - 49.5 gr, spaced out by .5 gr. Then I have the same with Winchester 760. I will be using Hornaday 150grain SP bullets.
I have also purchased factory loads of Hornaday 150grain SP rounds. I will be using a CED M2 Chrono with the IR Screens.
My plan is to shoot each string starting with 5 of the factory loads first.
Is there anything that I should do in between strings. I was planing I running a bore snake through after each string.
This is my first time testing a new load so my questions are this.
1. Any thing that I should keep in mind that will be help full in testing these properly.
2. Do these loads sound resonable, in other words should I be concerend with my rifle exploding on me.
I will be firing these with my DPMS LR-308.
