I am having a probl em resizing fired brass. I am using hornady custom grade dies. When I run my lubed case into the die (full length reside) it will go about two thirds of the way smoothly, then just stops. I have to push down with everything I can to get the case all the way into the die. It's easier if I back the die off a few turns, but this is what happens.
On the shoulder side of the bump the case measures .345 the side that hasn't been resized. The resized part measures .330 this is win brass twice fired.
I have measured cases of fired and resized 300wsm brass and the resized necks measure .335 the fired united measures the same as thefired 308 brass. Neck thickness is the same .315 the inside measures the same .305 on both caliber same with loaded cases of each. But I never had half this problem resizing for the short mag using rcbs dies.
My question is do I get a different resize die? What should/can I do about this? If I get a reading die with a titanium bashing and justneck size will I have to still lube cases?
