Here's a few of the bullets I've been looking at using, thought I'd share the list.

Velocities are based on a 338 Edge / 338 Lapua typical loading. Your mileage may vary.

Max Range is based on when the bullet goes below Mach 1, some of these bullets may be stable through the sonic barrier so its just a reference.

They're arranged in order from lowest cost per shot to highest cost per shot.

Re: 338 Bullet Reference

I've heard the 300gr SMK's are stable through it, but I don't have a range that far to shoot and test them. The 250 Scenars and 250gr Hornady match bullets I've heard 3rd hand results of shots suggesting they're stable through the transsonic region.

Re: 338 Bullet Reference

I've read that about the 300 SMK as well. I've also went with a 9 twist 30"'Hart to try and hel with this as well. This will prolly limit me to only the 300 grainers and if so, so be it. My only concern is this barrel is to fast twisted and won't shoot anything in this class of bullets.

Re: 338 Bullet Reference

I tried out some Hornady 225 SST's tonight and they were okay, but not as accurate as the 300gr SMK's were. I tried 95gr of H-1000 which is probably a bit slow for the lighter bullets. The load was about 1"-1.25" in my rifle, so not stellar but it may improve with development.
