Suppressors .338 can on a .308?

If I thread a .338 can on a .308, will the suppression be comprimised due to the 30,000th size difference? Or is it just as quiet? Just trying to save a little money by using one can on both.

Same here. Actually smart buying a 338 can as you can use it on anything from 338 on down.

Surefire works great and is easily swapped between rifles as they wear the same QD brakes.

If you order one rifle from Gap they want to put a 338 can and brake on the 300 win mag. Surefire. There is a nice article about it guns&ammo combat tactics magazine.

Thanks for the advice - now I just need to put the finishing touches - I'm building the .338 Norma. when I'm finished I'll post some pics.

I am using a SF 338 can on my 300 Whisper. Just as quiet as my Shark 308 can.

I have a buddy who has an AAC Titan 338 can. It currently resides on a Thompson Encore in 30-06 until he saves money to buy a better rifle. I think he is very happy with the quiet level.

vdub- Glad to hear that he's happy with it, cuz that is what I ordered yesterday. I spoke to a couple of friends that interchange it between various forms of 30's, and all seemed pleased.

It could be a little heavy I suppose, for the 308. But I doubt the wild hogs really care! It just seems like a versatile way to go if one is on a budget.
