    I know this is crazy but has anybody ever built a 338 edge or remington ultra mag on a wsm action. I currently have a 700 sa in 7mm saum and am kicking around the idea of doing a switch barrel and having the second barrel be a 338 edge obviously with a single shot follower. I know that I would have to remove the bolt to get chambered loaded rounds out, but I am hoping that it has enough room to eject empties. I don't need a repeater so as long as it will eject fired casings I am cool with it. I know the action is strong enough just not sure about the function. that way with one rifle I could have a long range hunting rifle and a really long range hunting rifle.

    let me know your thoughts/suggestions

    funny thing about that is that was me and it was on a savage target action single shot and it functioned great but like a dumbass I sold it and now am getting the urge to splurge again.

    did it look like this

    just not sure if the ejection port on the remington is long enough to eject the casings mostly. I don't have my rifle here at the office and wont be home for a few hours to check so was calling on the vast knowledge of the hide members. plus i like to get opinions on my crazy ideas before I do them. I have rifle a.d.d. bad I can't help it.

    thanks scott

    mostly because i am cheap and only will fire it as single shot anyways and probably not all that often. plus my saum is stainless and already has a badger bolt knob and badger rail.

    for the record it won't work, it will eject spent casings just fine but you can't get loaded rounds into the chamber believe it or not. so guess I will be putting my stainless 700 sa 7mm saum up for trade shortly.
