338 Lapua drop charts anyone care to share

Re: 338 Lapua drop charts anyone care to share

I worked mine ass backward. I don't have a chrono, so I tweaked JMB until it matched my drops at known distances (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600). I have not tested it out to distance yet (800-1000)but I have no doubt that my dope will track with JBM. My range can only go to 1200, but I'm confident that my DA chart will give me good numbers within my range. ELR (1500+) is another matter which I don't anticipate needing but I would have no hesitation trusting the JBM numbers.

I started with a 100 yard zero and then shot at each known distance and simply measured the drop. Using JBM, you can estimate your muzzle velocity which is the variable I changed to match the program with my actual field data. Maybe bone-head, but it works for me

I hope to shoot through a chrono at some point to confirm my estimated MV.

There is a device available that has the JBM engine in it and it mounts to your rifle to give you exactly what you are looking for.

I know this, because I make this product.

I just ran the .338 Lupua 300gr against the JBM solution and they are within 1" of each other at 1500Y.

You can find the RIANOV at: www.RIANOV.com or on the JBM website at:

Sorry it took us 6 month to let you know... we've been busy.

Battery life for a typical user (hunter/sport shooter) 3 years, or for a heavy user (military sniper) 6 months. This is on one CR123 battery.

The device automatically shuts off after a user set number of seconds (10-99 seconds), so no worries about leaving it on.

It is a manual entry. The initial customer feedback received during our initial trials were for the manual entry vs the computer interface. It take 3-5 minutes per custom weapon system to enter all the required data fields. The device has a data port, but we are currently not using it for anything.
