338 LAPUA Magnum reloading

I started with Neck Sizing only with RCBS but quickly went to Full Length Sizing with Redding Dies.

Found pressure when only Neck Sizing so I moved to Full Length Sizing. Note: Pressure MAY have been due to other as I did make other changes with my reloading process. This was with my Savage BA 110 .338 LM.

Have both Redding Comp set with Bushings (Redding #: 58594) but with new rig only been using Redding Full Length Die (Redding #: 75594) which does not use bushings. I'll probably use the Full Length Size Comp Die with Bushings in near future after.

My new custom .338 LM really likes 300 SMK over 92.1 Retumbo inside Lapua sparked by 215M at 3.630 (My Maximum length in AI Non-CIP mag). No pressure signs at all.

Lower NODE I found was 89.3 grains with everything else same.

Note: During Load Development my rig shot a straight POI line from left to right (91.8, 91.9, 92.0, 92.1, 92.2) So I split difference and round up to 92.1) Worked out well as 92.1 hits POA.

Very accurate and WELL under .5 MOA with 5-7 shots. Rig and load will shoot dime size targets consistently.

You may want to consider using Dan's OCW method. OCW Overview - Dan Newberry's OCW Load Development System It worked like a charm for me. Thanks Dan!

Just my two cents...
