ok this is my dilema
i would like a 338 lm
would it be cheaper for me to do a custom build
or just get the sako trg 42
and call it good
i also have caouple of rifles i could hopefully turn into 338lm
please let me know what you think
thanks

Re: .338 LAPUA MAGNUM

sako is good and price is ok, but if you get sako accy's I think they are pricey. For me I would want the sako bipod and scope mount (the mount only because a few people said others move or loosen after some firing due to the heavy recoil). Now with the price of the rifle then the accys which would add about a grand (for the sako name accys) your looking at a price of a decent custom. If you can get your hands on a rem 700-police in 338 might be good and a little cheaper to supplement the cost of the ammo

That's what the credit card is for!

Re: .338 LAPUA MAGNUM

whats a credit card....?????

buy the TRG 42. Never seen one shoot over .5moa with good ammo,
and have seen a bunch.
Get a Near manufacturing "brake" they work and are a very nicely machined piece. Matter of fact I havent seen anything Richard sells that aint a nice piece of manufacturing. Damn Canadians....

Re: .338 LAPUA MAGNUM

If you want a Sako TRG 42, it's right out of the box ready. Shoot real good just as is. I seen a article in G&A on the TRG 42, might be worth checking out to answer some questions. I have one and it's great.

If you want custom, then go that route. Nothing wrong with that. It's just your preference for what you want to do.
