Hello,

I just bought Sako TRG 42 cal 338 L/ M, and now i am interested about to find right bullet( i prefere 250 gr) for long distace hunting ca 400- 600 m. What is the best bullet?

Re: 338 LM reloading

250 Scenar and 250 Lapua Lockbase. The scenars BC is a little higher, but the Finns shoot both out of their TRG's.

The 250 SMK's will be less expensive, not quite as high BC but not a slouch.

Edited to Add: I missed the hunting part of your post. The above would be my target recommendations Like Chris mentioned below the 200-225 gr Hornady or Nosler Accubonds should do well for you.

You've got a lot of 200-250gr Hunting bullets, from 225gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, to 225 Nosler Accubonds and Hornady SSTs and Interlocks, to 250gr Sierra GameKings.

I'm not a hunter, but you're got a great selection of .338 cal hunting bullets if you look around.

Is there really even a bad choice out there? I bought some Nosler partitions in 250gr, but haven't had a chance to try them. Saw that you can get Barnes TSX 185gr!!!??
