What velocity are you guy's getting with the 338L improved and 300 grainers?

I run conservative at 2915 fps with Berger OTM's

I got 3,000 fps from my older 10 twist (30" tube), when i swapped to a new 9.3 Bartlein (30" tube), 3k showed too much pressure during the load development, so i dropped to 2,950+. Shoots great at this spot, so I don't really miss the extra velocity.

After one run through the hydro form die, I fireform my cases with 300SMK'S at 2900. They shoot quite well.

I’d be careful with 2900 with 300 otm in std Lapua unless your running a long freebore or 38” barrel, you have to be way over pressure. Or your chrony is off.

What load are you running? Seems pretty high for a stocker.

I would guess your running around 94 grains of H1000

I could never get anything near that velocity from my .338 l.M., but I loaded everything to feed and be mag length (so the big pills were pushed way back in the case).

338lm Improved with 30 degree shoulder- 3050fps with 300gr SMK's in a 33.5" Krieger 9.35 twist and Retumbo.

Im running a 338 Allen Xpress with a 35* shoulder. 300 Berger OTM and106g of IMR 8133 gets me 3160 from a 36 inch tube @ 60*F.

I would think if you want to up your FPS... And that is important to you ... Try Reloader 33 or N570 over H1000.. The N570 is just hard to to find 99% of the time... Why do all the load work up for powder that isn't available when you need it. so I would go with the RL 33...JMO ... Dave
