I am getting ready to mount a Schmidt Bender 4-16x42 on my 308. It has a standard LTR contoured barrel, I am not sure of the number to designate this size.

I will need a set of 34mm rings and will most likely go with Badger. I have not decided 100% that I am going with the 42mm objective, but I am really leaning toward it. Can anyone say definitively which height rings I need? I know there arent many options, but I believe Badger makes a couple different heights. Can you also answer the same question if I go with a 50mm objective?

Lastly, I usually buy my Badger stuff from Adam Bauer, but if he doesnt have any in stock, can someone recommend another vendor?

Re: 34mm rings

Hydro, i really dislike the cross bolt on any ring. I had a set of Glenn's 34mm's on my PH and they were top notch. But for the Badgers, id run the Standards on the 42 and Mediums on the 50mm.

Hydro,

Heres a pic of a 50mm objective with a set of Glen's low rings

Re: 34mm rings

I think that the 4-16x50 can only be had with MOA adjustments, and if that is the case, I will definitely be getting the 42. So, I will need shorter rings.

Anybody have any pictures of a 42mm Schmidt on a medium contour barrel? (similar to the LTR barrel's contour)

ETA- Long range- That is a beautiful rifle.

The Badgers may not be an option then. I have had several pairs of 34mm rings, but they were always mounting a 56mm Schmidt. If those were the lowest they offer, then I will have to go another route.

I could just go with another 56mm Schmidt, but this rifle is my lightest, most compact rifle, and I was wanting to stay in that vein. Will have to look at other options if BO makes nothing lower.

As I recall that is correct for their 30mm rings, but the shortest for their 34mm rings is 1".

The seekins lows 34mm are .92

You have been misinformed.
